Leave Us Leap is a full-blooded up-tempo swing chart in which dynamics are everything. The first chorus is taken by the Saxes, with punchy brass backing. Solos for trumpet, trombone, tenor & piano follow, with a cameo alto solo introducing a big shout chorus at the end. The drummer is then left to his own devices for a solo spot, which could last from a few seconds to several minutes. Some bands leave the stage at this point & let him get on with it! The shout chorus is repeated to end things off.
