This chart begins with a brief but nice trumpet cadenza that has been written out in full, though your trumpet player can improvise.The arrangement originally featured a string section, but those parts have been rescored into the band. This adaptation calls for clarinet & flute doubles (alto 1 doubles clarinet, alto 2 doubles flute and tenor; tenor 1 doubles clarinet & alto; tenor 2 doubles clarinet). We have included alternate parts that avoid these doubles. Trumpet 1 range goes up to a high F. If need be, your trumpet player can avoid this note and improvise something comparable.
